Travel restrictions for international students from mainland China

  • From 1 February 2020 and until further notice, if you are an international student travelling to Australia from mainland China, or you have transited through mainland China, you will not be allowed to enter Australia.
  • This travel restriction has been imposed by the Australian Government in response to the spread of the novel coronavirus.
  • Do not travel to Australia at this time until these measures are lifted.

  2. These measures imposed by the Australian Government may change depending on how the situation with the novel coronavirus evolves.
  3. There are still a number of weeks before the start of 2020 Term 1 on 23 March 2020 so at this stage, there are no changes to the commencement of 2020 Term 1.
  4. All new and continuing students due to study in 2020 Term 1 should plan to commence on time but be aware that delays due to extended Government restrictions may occur.
  5. Over the next few weeks, should the Australian Government impose new measures that impact your enrolment and ability to study in 2020 Term 1, CIC Higher Education will inform you of actions you can take to manage your enrolment.
