Dr Peter Cartwright has been with CIC Higher Education since 2014, first as Director of Higher Education, then Executive Dean in 2017 and since 2018 the Chief Executive Officer. Peter has over 25 years’ experience in tertiary education roles.
Prior to coming to CIC Higher Education, Peter was Associate Dean – International and Development at La Trobe University in Melbourne Australia. He has wide experience in international education which has taken him to over 20 countries across Asia, Europe and South America. From 1998 to 1999 he was the Marie Curie European Postdoctoral Fellow in Milan, Italy.
Peter has been a member of various committees and boards including La Trobe University’s International Strategy Committee and is on the TEQSA Register of Experts. Peter’s academic qualifications include a Bachelor of Science (Honours), PhD from La Trobe University, and Graduate Certificates in Business Administration and Higher Education.
Tim has been with CIC since 2016 initially as the Discipline Leader for the Management degree and then as Director – Admissions which is his current role. Prior to CIC, Tim was the Head of Department – Professional Communications at RMIT Vietnam, Education Coordinator at the Department of Health and Children – Ireland and as the European Manager for an international Advertising/Health Promotion company. In the middle of all this, Tim also developed, established, ran and sold a successful 135 seat restaurant in the Temple Bar area of Dublin, Ireland.
Neema Dhayan is a remarkable individual hailing from the beautiful island of Mauritius. She embarked on a transformative journey that transformed her into a dynamic force in the field of global education. In 2002, she arrived on Australian soil with a clear purpose and driven by a thirst for knowledge. Neema’s academic prowess was evident as she pursued her studies at Curtin University in Western Australia. She not only graduated but excelled in her courses, earning the prestigious first-class honors in Marketing. Her dedication and academic achievements peaked when she emerged as the best graduating student in the Masters Degree program. This milestone marked the beginning of her remarkable career.
As a trailblazer in the field of international student recruitment, Neema Dhayan has made an indelible mark on a global scale. Her accomplishments stem from a profound passion that propels her commitment to helping students realize their dreams of studying abroad. Quan is presently Head of School (Business) at CIC Higher Education (CIC). Prior to that, he was a Deputy Head of Accounting and Course Coordinator of the Bachelor of Business (Accounting) program at CIC. During his career, he also worked as an external auditor at various organisations in Australia and Vietnam. He holds a PhD and a Graduate Certificate in Learning and Teaching from Swinburne University of Technology. He is also a member of the Academic Board of CIC.
Quan is a fellow and a panel member, representing members in Victoria and Tasmania (2020-2022 and 2022-2024), of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA), a member of Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand (CAANZ), and a fellow of the Higher Education Academy (FHEA). He continuously shows his interest and engages in research areas of corporate reporting, forensic accounting, and auditing. He is also engaged as an external reviewer of several journals, such as the Asia-Pacific Journal of Accounting & Economics, Asian Review of Accounting Journal, Spring Nature Business & Economics Journal, and of annual conferences held by Central Queensland University and the Higher Education Research and Development Society of Australia (HERDSA).
George is an accomplished TEQSA expert specializing in Information Systems, accounting, and business management. He holds a Ph.D. in data science and a Master’s degree in IT, showcasing his extensive academic background. With 12 years of industry expertise in senior roles spanning IT, Database Management Systems (DBMS), and financial data analytics at renowned institutions like DB Schenker, Allied Telesis, and CITIC Bank of China, George brings a wealth of practical knowledge. George boasts two decades of teaching experience across various domains, including statistics, IT, data science, artificial intelligence, machine learning, and accounting. His leadership roles at Higher Education institutions underscore his commitment to shaping academic excellence. George’s impactful publications contribute significantly to the fields of IT, data science, and accounting.
Baljinder Kaur – Registrar
Baljinder Kaur has been working in higher education sector for 16 years and is passionate about providing a positive learning experience to international students, supporting them through the student lifecycle from orientation to graduation and beyond.
Baljinder has been working at CIC Higher education since 2008 and plays a vital role in ensuring academic quality and student success. She has worked as the manager of academic services and currently holds the position of Registrar at CIC. Baljinder oversees and manages the academic and governance services, maintains the academic data in the student management and learning management systems, and is responsible for implementing relevant policies at CIC. She works closely with the CEO, Dean, Heads of Schools, faculty, and operational staff to ensure CIC delivers effective academic support to students and internal & external stakeholders.
She has extensive experience in planning, organising, and implementing projects, ensuring all matters related to academic data, governance & examinations at CIC are performed with integrity. With a Bachelor in Electronics and Instrumentation Engineering, she provides support to implement the technologies and organisational strategies to ensure effective operations with a high level of customer service to students in compliance with the CIC’s policies & procedures.
Baljinder is a member of the Results Review Committee, Teaching and Learning Committee, and Academic Integrity Committee and the WHS Committee. She is also a member of the student complaints & appeals panel.
